random lunch thoughts

Was in the office food court today, I was very excited to get cali burrito bowl, I'm a loyal customer and you couldn't get me to eat anything else. However, there was a big line outside cali burrito bowl, nowhere else. All other restaurants were empty except cali burrito.
The other places here aren't bad by any means. There was an Andhra place and I love Andhra food. And it made me wonder what Andhra cuisine can do to have cali burrito success. Never mind what they can do to succeed - what can they do to appeal to me. And the clear answer was - bowlify! I love a lot of things about Andhra cuisine - especially the way they cook their veggies. If I could get rice, beans, something green and some pachadis to mix it all together?? Damn. I'm suddenly of the belief that Indian cuisine can go real far by leaning more to "create your own bowl" from the big thalis you cannot change. I can imagine this for everything cuisine in India! Like the karnataka one would be choice of carb - rice, ragi mude or rava ; a bean palya ; a veggie palya ; choice of sambar, rasam or tambuli! Omg it's a billion dollar idea
I'm also thinking what other bowls I like and there are many! Korean bibimbap, ramen bowls with extra veggies, falafel bowls. Oh it's endless!!! Anything in a bowl i swear. The security, approachable roundness of bowls changes everything for me. I love love love bowls!!
